A Pleasand Spring Day Has Come Back

There is a swallow's nest. I've been looking forward to seeing the birds coming back since I moved to this place.

One morning, I heard some chirping outside and peeped out. There were two swallows flying around the nest. However, when I came back from work, I found a black hood hanging from the ceiling next to the next. To prevent the birds from coming in?? I was rather disappointed. I could't help feeling hopeful, when I heard birds' chirping occasionally. Till today. When I came back from work this late afternoon, there were two swallows sitting on a power line, side by side. I was happy to see them thinking that they'd managed to get into the nest. Then, I turned around and found that the nest's entrance was blocked with some paper. I contemplated to take it off, but decided not to. Somebody will surely make this attempt again. Feeling useless, all I could do was to pray for the swallows to find a nice place somewhere else. Not here. I would welcome you under my eaves on the other side of the building. I know it could be messy underneath, but locking them out like this? I wonder why the residents just don't get rid of it if birds are not welcome.
