ポッドキャスト "Futures in Biotech 26: The Last Man to Walk on the Moon"より抜粋

Question:
Having a human do the experiments, rather than having a robot doing some data analyses, is it better to have it? What can a human brain do that can't be done with robotics, remote controls or advanced systems?

Answer:
No. 1, they (human beings) bring a qualitative super computer that has yet to be duplicated in any significant way, namely the brain. And then, brain can be instantaneously reprogram, based on experiences and training, to take advantage of, or, to react new situations. With that brain, are tied magnificent optical system named a human eye, or eyes, that provide dynamic range and access of that is generally found impossible with the hardware systems and electronic systems. And also tied to that brain are human hands, which are remarkably dexterous manipulation system. So you put those three things together, properly assisted by pressure suits and other systems and you have something that is well beyond robotics can do when faced with new conditions with new environment which you want to explore. I don't see human's been out of equation for the foreseeable future.
