ニュージーランドへ帰る前の東京観光。訪れたのは猫町として有名な谷中。
Sightseeing in Tokyo before going back to NZ. We visited Yanaka,
famous as a cat town.
古い町並みでお寺もたくさん。お堂の透し彫りが気に入ってスケッチを始めた娘。
This old town has many temples. My daughter liked the openwork carvings
and started sketching.
傾きかけた陽に羽を輝かせる鳳凰。こういった
見事な芸術品がさりげなく見られるのがお寺や神社の魅力です。
A Phoenix, wings shining with the setting sun. A visit to local temples and shrines
almost always guarantees you with skillful works of arts such as this.
鳳凰が住んでいるのは大圓寺。The Phoenix lives at Daienji.
懐っこい猫に出会えました。
We found a friendly cat.
猫町訪問の最後は猫尻尾ドーナッツを食べて。
ま、長細いドーナッツに模様が書いてあるだけですが。
美味しく尻尾をいただきました。
The last stop at this cat town was a 'çat tail donut shop.'
Just some long straight donuts with some patterns.
Well, we ate the tails and they tasted good.
夜は目当ての寿司屋が見つからず、急遽炭火焼きに変更。
お肉に海老に野菜。寒い冬にはこちらで正解だったかも。
We couldn't find the sushi shop we were looking for and jumped
in a char-grill diner. Meat, shrimps and veges. Maybe, this was
better at the end of a cold winter day.
