The toddler is that little person aged between 1 and 4 years who domonstrates some interesting behavioural traits. Young toddlerhood, between the ages of 1 to 2 1/2 years, is a time of flexing muscles and exhibiting minimal sense, while the pre-school toddler, aged between 2 1/2 to 4 years, is more verbal, social and focuses in their assault on parents.
幼児とは、一才から四才までの、興味深い行動傾向を示す小さな人間である。早い幼児期、一才から二才半までは力づくで無分別の時期である。就学前の幼児期、二才半から四才までは、もっと口達者、社交的で、攻撃は両親に集中する。
The trademarks of the toddler are:
- more power than sense;
- living for the moment; and
- demanding centre stage position.
Philosophical, religious and philanthropic ideals are not conspicuous.

- 自分がいつも主役
哲学的、宗教的、博愛的思考は芽もでていない。
Parents should know this is normal, use commonsense and cunning, not blame themselves, then go with the flow.

つまりは、どんなにわがままでかんしゃく持ちに見える子供でも、裏を返せば自分の限界を感じながらも対処法がわからない迷える子羊である、と。そして、うちの子はこんなに大変じゃないなと安心させる事もこういった本の役目だったりして？
