寄り添って力を蓄え、 Gathering the energy together,
上がりました!! and CLEARED!!
最近はまっている川辺の散歩兼魚ウォッチング。細身のマスの夫婦が寄り添って、産卵場所を守ります。身体で砂利をのけて水路を開き、卵に酸素をたっぷり含んだ新鮮な水流が絶えぬよう努めます。卵を狙って近寄る小魚を追い払います。そうして、見守りながらヒレも身体の鱗も真っ白に擦り切らせ、力尽きて、一匹、また一匹と水底に沈んで行きます。どんどん寂しくなって行く中、もうお終いかと思っていたら、まだ大物がいるとサケウォッチのプロに教えていただきました。今まで見ていたマスの倍近い大きさのサケです。一匹無事一段上れましたが、まだまだ前途多難。無事良い産卵場所を見つけられるでしょうか。
My newly discovered fun hobby is walking a river-side and river-fish watching. After laying their eggs, salmon couples hang around the sites. They push aside pebbles using their bodies so that the eggs get oxygen-rich water flow. They chase away smaller fish trying to snatch away their eggs. Their fins and scales turn white, yet they keep their watch, until they reach at the end of the tether and sink to the bottom of the river. The number was getting smaller and smaller, and I thought it was nearly over. Fortunately, there is an expert fish-watcher on this riverbank, and he pointed out this big couple to me. Nealy twice as big as the ones I was watching. One managed to go up one level, but there are a lot more to conquer up-stream. I hope they find a good site for their eggs.
