「ハットしてキャット」一応優（あるいは　ピンチ脱出　第二弾）

娘と息子が仲良く遊んでます。薮から棒に、息子が娘に向かって
息子：「 You, dirty whore.」
私：「何？」
息子：「I was talking to her.」
私：「失礼な事、言わないで。どこで聞いたの？」（どうせ、学校の悪ガキが口にしているのを耳にしたのだろう、と、偏見雲もくもく。）
息子：「The Cat in the Hat.」
私：「え、映画の？」
息子：「Yes. What is a whore, anyway.」
私：「ダディが帰って来たら、聞いてごらん。」（いつもの逃げ口上）

それにしても、この映画、子供向けのはずなのに、、、いくらマイク・マイヤース（「シュレック」の声、「オースティンパワーズ」）が主演とは言え、罵倒語に値するこの台詞が入っているはずは、、、と、思っているうちに夕食時。

息子：「Dad, what does a 'dirty whore' mean.」
主人：「Well, son. It is not a nice word to say to the girls.」（一体全体、何なんだ、と、救いを求める目線）
私：「He said he heard it from the movie 'The Cat in the Hat'.」
主人：「Huh? But that movie is for...」
私：「Yes, for kids.」

と、おたおたする両親を尻目に映画の説明を始める息子。

息子：「You know, the cat was chasing a bad guy out of the door, he said to the guy, 'I'm going to kill you if you don't get out.' and he had a shovel and he threatened to bash him with that, and the guy ran out and the cat slammed the door and said to the shovel, 'you dirty whore.' then said, 'no, I love you.'」（身振り手振り付き）
私：（シャベル！）「Do you think it's a hoe?」
主人：「Must be.」
息子：「So what is a hoe, anyway?」
主人：「It's a kind of a shovel.」
息子：「Oh, so why is it not nice?」
主人：「Well, a dirty hoe isn't that nice, is it?」
息子：「I suppose.」

こちらでは映画は（テレビ番組も）かなり厳しく検閲されていまして、十三歳以上、十五歳以上、十六歳以上、十八歳以上と細かく分かれています。GというラベルがSuitable for allと言う事で、子供が見ても絶対安心映画です。の、はずだったんですけど。こんな、きわどいジョークを入れないで欲しい物です。でも、楽しい映画です。息子は一週間で四回ほど見ました。未見の方はついでに本の方も読んでしまうと、もっと楽しめると思います。

追記：女の子、やけに可愛くてうまいと思ったら、噂のダコタ・ファニングちゃんでした。結構、豪華キャストの気がします。
