A Brief History of Lord Ukita
The Grave. Obon, the 15th of August, is a holiday for Japanese people.
It is a time to welcome the spirits of their ancestors, by visiting their graves
and offering flowers and foods. Looks like this grave had many visitors, too.
Ariake, Today.
The westering sun shone through the water, but the water was rather murky.
The receding tide was quite strong, and I was nearly pulled
out of the inlet. I decided to call it a day for this spot.
At Sokodo, The first (and possibly the last) shaved ice for this summer.
My very first underwater photo from my iPhone, a baby ray.
And a turtle.
Going up for a breath.
Eating,
breathing,
eating,
and breathing. The turtle swam so close to me that I couldn’t help touching the shell.
