お腹が満たされたところで探検開始。After a hearty meal, an adventure follows.
まずは忍者と遭遇。The first encounter is with a ninja.
変わり身の術をご披露。Ninja magic, switching places.
お次は、見目麗しき白馬と雄々しい若殿。
The next, a gallant young lord on a magnificent white horse.
そして怪しげな湖から現れた怪獣。
And from an omnious looking lake, a monster emerges.
と、いろいろ遊べる東映太泰映画村です。
This fun-packed place is called "Toei Kyoto Studio Park."
屋外の日本屋敷に挟まれた大通りでのちゃんばら劇。目の前で悪者侍たちが一人の凛々しい剣士にばったばったと倒されます。そして、見学人から志願者を募って剣士がちゃんばら指導したのち、生き返った悪者侍たちがまた倒されます。
The set is outside, on a main street between traditional Japanese houses. In front of spectators, a lone chivalrous sword master knocks down evil samurais. Then volunteers can get a taste of sword play under the sword master to knock down the revived evil samurais.
こちらは劇場にて。忍者サスケが舞台狭しと飛び回ります。特にハイテクでもなく、なんだかどこの小さな劇場でもできそうな舞台なのに、素直に面白かったです。やっぱり年季が入って、さりげなく練られている舞台なのかも。
This show is in a theater. Ninja Sasuke moves around the stage, right and left, up and down. No high-tech stuff, just an ordinary stage set, could be from any small town. But it was highly entertaining. Maybe years of polishing is giving the stage an invisible glow.
スタジオがぐるりとガラス張りになっています。見学人を前に、監督役が役者をまとめて、忍者の技や立ち回りの練習ぶりを披露してくれます。英語解説がないのが惜しい。
A studio is set in a small amphitheater, surrounded by glass panels. In front of an audience, a director instructs a bunch of actors to show Ninja arts and sword plays. Wish they had English commentary.
大道芸も劇場にて。私があまりにも楽しんでいたので、息子がお土産に南京玉簾を買ってくれました、笑。大道芸を練習しなければいけません。
Traditional Japanese busking at the same theater where Ninja performance showed earlier. I enjoyed the performance so much that my son bought me the special bamboo mat the performer uses. It looks like the sushi rolling mat, but bigger. The performer makes all sorts of shapes from it, kind of origami using a bamboo mat. I will have to master those skills one of those days, lol.
